Yesterday was the first day of fall. Our weather is cooler, especially at night, and I think we are done with the air conditioner until next summer. I celebrated with a big pot of chili. The past few weeks have been mellow. – just doing the days, as usual. Some beach trips… Some local hikes…Continue reading “Around Here – End of Summer”

Around Here – April
In preparation for our trip in May, which includes some hiking on the Appalachian Trail, I have been doing a little solo hiking in the local hills around here. Our yard has color! I am attempting to press some of the flowers. I’m using the old parchment paper in a heavy book technique. We celebratedContinue reading “Around Here – April”
A Long Weekend in the Bay Area
I am just back from a few days visiting Jan and Mark in Nor Cal. I flew up Friday morning; back Monday morning and in between we were, as Jan says, “girls on the go”. I immediatley introduced Jan to my new pastime of estate sale shopping. We went to three (!) sales. Our onlyContinue reading “A Long Weekend in the Bay Area”

Jan and I finished this beautiful puzzle. The Tomsic’s headed out early Sunday and we headed to Balboa Island.Continue reading “Around Here”

This space is a former police car warehouse in L.A.’s Little Tokyo District and is now housing the Pipilotti Rist:Continue reading “February”
Sister Getaway to San Diego
Jan was here, in Southern California, this between Christmas and New Years week to visit Mom. We took two days and headed south by train to San Diego for a little getaway. We arrived in San Diego about 10 and were able to check into the Sofia Hotel early. We then had a late breakfastContinue reading “Sister Getaway to San Diego”
Around Here
December tree and sky. Chris and I got our steps earlier this month in Marina del Rey. It was a crisp beautiful morning and we decided we want to live here. After the above walk we had brunch at the Cutters. The meal was delicious and I loved these napkins. Gift wrapping was fun thisContinue reading “Around Here”
