It’s been a mellow month. Except for our short camping trip to Morro Bay we have been home, just doing the days. Our yard has a lot of color. I worked on my cross stitch. I made a cake for Chris to take to James Hardware for a birthday celebration. I met up with UCLAContinue reading “Around Here – June”

Around Here – November
We stayed close to home this past month. We took a few day trips, did some baking, celebrated Thanksgiving and spent time at home. It was a good month. We spent a couple of Sunday mornings roaming around DTLA. On this day we split an Egg Slut sandwich and hash browns at Grand Central MarketContinue reading “Around Here – November”
January (and Toby)
January was a quiet month, mostly. We did have a great short get-away to Death Valley, but other than that not too much happened around here. But things have taken an upward turn the last two weeks. We got a dog! We adopted “Toby” from an Orange County Rescue organization. He was brought from MexicoContinue reading “January (and Toby)”
More December
Lots of cooking around here recently. Lots of weather, too. I had my Christmas crossstiich framed. It arrived on the 24th. The latest puzzle. This was a very fun one. We did not have a Christmas tree this year, but did decorate the living room a bit. Our 2021 card. Unintentionally I used the sameContinue reading “More December”

I am hoping it will be back from the framers in time to display this year. And, I started a second piece. I movedContinue reading “November”
Catching Up
Our return to more “normal life” seemed to speed up the past month or so. We had a big family gathering, we entertained at our home, twice (!), we got out and about, and we planned a trip to Oregon. We celebrated Marian’s, my mother-in-law, 94th birthday with a big family gathering at Yorba RegionalContinue reading “Catching Up”
Summer Days
After dinner walk beauty. Our little neighborhood library opened. Patrons are limited to an hour visit and there is no seating, but I found 4 tempting books: 2 current fiction, 1 true crime, and 1 nonfiction spy story. I have been working on this cross stitch piece for months. It is about 75% finished. WeContinue reading “Summer Days”
More of the Same, but Different
I finished this blue square quilt. It is about 50″ by 60″. This will be the last machine quilting I do. I was not happy with my accuracy. Also, I had to piece together the back due to a miscalculation at the fabric store and and my wish not to buy more fabric. Despite, theseContinue reading “More of the Same, but Different”
