It’s been a mellow month. Except for our short camping trip to Morro Bay we have been home, just doing the days. Our yard has a lot of color. I worked on my cross stitch. I made a cake for Chris to take to James Hardware for a birthday celebration. I met up with UCLAContinue reading “Around Here – June”

February
Lots of local hikes, mostly food at home, connecting with friends, a few estate sales, and a little sewing. This was February. We hiked every weekend day it didn’t rain. We roamed around the local Whittier Hills, Chino Hills, Buena Park, and Fullerton. These are the best lemon bars (recipe courtesy T.C.). Two estate saleContinue reading “February”
Creative Stuff Around Here
Flower A Day cross stitch. Almost complete. Started in January. Apron made from vintage curtains. Used a free internet pattern. Peach pie made with fresh gifted peaches from Central Ca. Made a few tote bags this summer. Christmas gift, quilt, in progress. Upping my plant game. Chicken Tortilla Soup – a (big) success.

We worked on a puzzle, had a beach bonfire, roamed around Laguna Beach, visited the Academy of Motion Picture Museum, ate lots of good food, and had lots of good conversation. We had a Stark Family dinner, the first in two years, at TheContinue reading “A Good Week”
2022 is Off to a Good Start
Beautiful January morning. Another beautiful morning. We roamed around Santa Monica on New Year’s Day. The beach bike path has some new color. I made Earl Grey’s delicious Toasted Almond Sable Cookies. I substituted dried cranberries for currants. I started a new cross stitch. It’s called Red, A Flower a Day. The idea is toContinue reading “2022 is Off to a Good Start”
More December
Lots of cooking around here recently. Lots of weather, too. I had my Christmas crossstiich framed. It arrived on the 24th. The latest puzzle. This was a very fun one. We did not have a Christmas tree this year, but did decorate the living room a bit. Our 2021 card. Unintentionally I used the sameContinue reading “More December”
November
November flew by. This puzzle did not. It was on the dining room table all month and was finally coompleted just before Thanksgiving dinner. I cranked out a Christmas cross stitch. I am hoping it will be back from the framers in time to display this year. And, I started a second piece. I movedContinue reading “November”
